Not in SLU, but worth the trip

So the South Lake Union Street Food Fair we first heard about this summer never quite panned out. But some derivation of this idea managed to survive, and for that we are grateful.

The Mobile Chowdown, a Seattle Magazine sponsored event, occurs this Saturday, from 11:00am to 3:00pm, not in SLU, but in Interbay at 1616 W. Bertona. It's a veritable who's who of the Seattle street food scene: Marination Mobile, Skillet, Maximus Minimus, Kaosamai Thai, Gert's BBQ, El Camion, Parfait Ice Cream, and Dante's Inferno Dogs are all on the bill.

The newish Seattle zine, The SunBreak (rhymes with The Southlake), has some interesting ideas on how to keep this idea going.
