A master pianist, composer, arranger, flutist, and player of a multitude of other instruments including the melodica and the accordion, Jovino Santos Neto is one of the top Brazilian musicians working today.
Jovino has been nominated twice for a Latin Grammy Award for best Latin Jazz Album, in 2004 and 2006. Since moving to Seattle in 1993, Jovino Santos Neto has continued to tour the world and record prolifically.
Jovino Santos Neto will bring the sounds of Brazilian jazz to the Northwest with his group, Jovino Santos Neto Quinteto, at the final free South Lake Union Summer Concert of 2009.
The free concert will take place this Friday, August 28 at 11:45 A.M. on the upper plaza at 2200 (corner of Westlake Ave. and Denny Way, above Whole Foods Market). They will perform two 45-minute sets.
