Cascade Block Party organizer and Cascade People's Center community outreach guru Melissa Jones sent out this e-mail recapping last night's neighborhood bash and giving much deserved recognition to the supporters of this wonderful grassroots event:
The Cascade Block Party was a lot of fun and a big success! This year's party was a huge hit--perfect weather, lots of families, great food (thanks again for the donations!) and incredible live music. Over 500 people wandered into Cascade Park to enjoy National Night Out and get down with the bands. Individuals stepped up to help Cascade People's Center offset the cost of the event. Thanks to all the generous in-kind product donors: Goods for the Planet, City Hardware, Franz Bakery, Tottini, and Immanuel Community Services! Thanks also to our generous sponsor Zipcar. Special thanks to the City of Seattle Parks & Recreation Department for all their support, including the equipment loans.
