101 Things Designers Can do to Save the Earth

Very cool, and FREE, workshop this Friday, June 6th at the School of Visual Concepts from 1:00 to 5:00pm. Check it out:

Today, most designers have been heard enough green talk to last a lifetime. So, this year, the 3rd annual 101 Things Designers Can Do to Save the Earth workshop will move from the conceptual to the practical, as five design groups -- both in-house and agencies -- present real-world examples of projects they've done. Each is an example of how to completely rethink a project to lighten its environmental footprint. You'll hear from: Chris Mahan and Eric Abraham, designers for REI; Marty McDonald, founder and creative director of the brand communications agency, egg; Brian Boram, principal of RMB Vivid, and; Mike Peck from Starbucks Creative Group. You'll also learn from Jana Nishi Yuen and Mary Hermes about how Hornall Anderson's Green Team created a more environmentally conscious design firm.
