Cafe Venus is holding an artist reception event June 11th June 4th at 6:00pm for photographer and South Lake Union resident Daniel Konopacki's series of works called "Postcards from Home". All wine purchases during the evening and proceeds from artwork sales will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Postcards from Home

We take for granted this place called home. We see things so often that we tend to look past them; we look past their meanings as well as their beauty. In our quest for adventure we pack up and go to places “exotic.” The irony should not be lost, then, when we hear of someone from our exotic destination dreaming of visiting the place from which we just arrived. Only when we have transplanted ourselves for any length of time do we realize that which we left behind.
