Cascade Farmers Market Wins City Funding

It's looking more and more likely that Cascade / South Lake Union will have a farmers market this summer (Yay!).

Earlier today, the City's Office of Economic Development announced $128,384 in awards to help 22 neighborhood business districts. Winners were chosen by the city from a pool of economic-development proposals submitted by the business groups—and we made the cut!

The South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce was awarded the $10,000, who will be partnering the Cascade Farmers Market Committee to bring a farmers market to the Cascade / South Lake Union business district.

Keep tuned for more details on the market, as I'm sure my sources will be more forthcoming now that the checks have been written and cashed.

Outstanding!
I'm thrilled to hear this. I live on the edge of Uptown & SLU and have been yearning for the day that something would come to the neighborhood! I certainly take advantage of Pike Place Market, but look forward to a neighborhood market that can support my desire to shop for more seasonal / local produce.
