Mmmm...Toasty

The tiny retail space on the ground floor of the Tommy Bahama building that has been vacant since the beginning of time is now the future home of a Quiznos franchise. Exciting, huh? Not really, but makes sense with a bunch of hungry Amazons moving in next year.

If you prefer to not have your sandwiches made by The Man™, try Slices or Cafe Mae.

It's a start!
You are right, this is not the most exciting news but when corporate franchises start moving in, there is hope to start filling the many other empty retail holes along Westlake. with more foot traffic, there will also be more hope for independent stores that already exist in the area.

After 5 / Weekends?
Now the real questions is if they'll be open on the weekends. SLU sure is great for people who work in the area, but after 5 and on the weekends it's a ghost town. If you're living in the 'hood, you end up driving somewhere after exhausting your currently limited options.

Agreeing w/mlloyd
The area is dead on the weekends with the exception of Portage Bay and Blue Moon Burgers. It is sad, but it will change soon. Just need ore people to live down in the area and increase the foot traffic.
