Gingerbread House Event at Portage Bay Cafe

Portage Bay Cafe is hosting a gingerbread house event to benefit two local homeless charities on Saturday, December 6th.

There will be two seatings — the first, 4:00 - 6:00pm is a family-focused event with a minimum donation of $35 per house; the second, 6:30 - 9:00pm is more grown-up centric, with hor d'ouevres, cash bar and silent auction with a minimum $42 donation per house.

This event will be a lot of fun, and while your gingerbread house may not may not make it into the Gingerbread Village at the Sheraton Hotel, it will likely be presentable enough to display in your living room.

More information can be seen at http://www.gingerbreadproject.org. Reservations are required and can be made by emailing gingerbreadhomes@gmail.com or by calling Lori at 206.794.5597.

Also, for you Portage Bay junkies out there, they are having a two-for-one breakfast special good Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 11:00am through the month of January.

Sorry to hear that, but I'm glad you still enjoyed your breakfast.

My source for the two-for-one deal was a holiday guide put out by the Discover SLU folks (Vulcan). Here's a link to the pdf: http://www.discoverslu.com/images/SLU_Emails/120308_Email/HolidayGuideSingles.pdf

Check out the top of page 7.

I guess it reads that way, too. Odd for a "holiday" guide that went out in early Dec to have specials reserved for Jan. Make it right, Vulcan--free breakfast for everyone!

Hey Rick.
Just curious about how to get the two-for-one breakfast at Portage, went there today, and the manager did not know of just a promotions. Oh well, the food was still great :)
Thanks!
