South Lake Union's biggest party of the year is coming this Friday, and it promises to stimulate all the senses with food, drink, dogs, music, movies and more.
The Southlake will be there soaking it in. I'll also be dutifully fulfilling the role of Russian judge for the Audacious Burger Challenge. Blue Moon Burger, Pan Pacific Hotel Lobby Bar, Portage Bay Cafe, Skillet and Whole Foods Market will all vie for my – and four other judges' – tastebuds, but only one can take home the title of best burger in South Lake Union.

There will also be plenty of food on hand for you to sample and judge for yourselves. Food from Whole Foods Market, 13 Coins, Bucca di Bepo, Gillian’s, Jones Soda, Paddy Coyne’s, Portage Bay Café, Slo Joe’s BBQ, Starbucks, Taco Del Mar and Tutta Bella will be available for a $1 suggested donation to the vendor's nonprofit of choice.
To wash all that food down you can gain entry to the Redhook beer garden, or partake in a new addition this year—wine tasting! 11 Washington wineries are featured, including Brian Carter Cellars, Cedergreen Cellars, Chateau Ste. Michelle, DiStefano Winery, Gamache Vintners, Hightower Cellars, Kiona Vineyards Winery, McCrea Cellars, O Wines, Snoqualmie Winery and Zefina. $15 gets you 10 tastings, gourmet snacks and an issue of Seattle Magazine.
For your ear buds, a variety of local bands will perform on the live music stage all day, including Aqueduct, Bugs in Amber, Picoso, King of Hawaii and Grand Hallway.
Then tickle your funny bone by watching the final film of this year’s Cinema on the Lawn movie series – Academy Award-winning film Juno.
